US demand for alternative decking expected to grow
A new survey released by the Freedonia Group, a Cleveland-based research industry firm, says while wood decking will account for the majority of decking projects, alternative decking is projected to grow nearly 10 percent per year, as opposed to less than 1 percent per year for wood decking through 2013.
Demand is projected to be strong for alternative decking because of its long lifespan, environmental friendliness, better wear and tear protection and other attributes.
The residential market is again expected to provide the majority of the demand for decking through 2013.
