With over 10 halls of woodworking technology on display, the Ligna Fair in Hanover, Germany, this week was crowded with visitors.  Sixty Canadian companies were registered at one large machinery group’s booth and several large U.S. manufacturers, including over a dozen executives from Ashley Furniture, were in attendance.

At Ligna, IMA introduced Perfomance.CUT, a new machine for effective cutting in both mass production and batch-size-one production. With minimum space requirements, this new technology combines the advantage of nesting with the speed of sawing. Handled in North America through IMA Schelling, the new machine will do from 800-1,500 parts per shift.

Felder Group introduced 37 new machines at Ligna in Germany this week.

In addition, Biesse, Scm Group, Cefla, Holz-Her, Superfici, Weima, Leuco, Martin, Hoffmann Machine, Leitz, Nordson, Weinig Group and many others had thousands of square feet of technology under power for day-long demonstrations. Add Stiles Machinery, Homag, Italpresse, Schmalz, Newman Machine, Schelling, Koch Machinery,  Streibig, Lamello, Benz, Costa Sanders, TigerStop and Virutex were also exhibiting new technology and equipment.
