KBIS to highlight outdoor living at 2016 show

leave a comment »

As the demand for alfresco living reaches epic proportions, the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) will introduce a new outdoor products area at its 2016 show, January 19-21 in Las Vegas. The pavilion will showcase the latest in outdoor kitchen and living design trends, as well as showcase new outdoor products from more than 15 brands. Located in the South Hall of the Last Vegas Convention Center, the pavilion will also include expanded programming for attendees including panels and demonstrations.

“The outdoor appliance category has grown exponentially. It’s no longer about what grill are people buying for their backyard, it’s about bringing the entire kitchen experience outdoors,” said Brian Pagel, VP, kitchen and bath, Emerald Expositions. “Identified among the top 10 kitchen design trends for 2015 by the NKBA in their yearly Kitchen & Bath Style Report, outdoor kitchen and living spaces are among the hottest trends in the housing industry today.”

In the same report, about half of all NKBA designers specified an outdoor kitchen in 2014 – an increase of seven percentage points from 2013.

Among the highlights of the pavilion include an outdoor display with products and designs by: Bevolo Gas & Electric Lights, Caliber Appliances, Challenger Designs LLC, Open Air Outdoor Cabinetry by Desavino & Sons, Fontana Forni USA, Glideware, Grill Dome, Kalamazoo Outdoor Gourmet, Liebherr, Louisiana Grills, Memphis Wood Fire Grills, Modern Home Products, New Age Products, Sunshine Stone Products, Overstock Stone, and Richelieu Hardware Ltd.

KBIS named fastest growing event in North America

leave a comment »

The Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) was named the fastest-growing show in attendance in both percentage growth and sheer numbers last week at Tradeshow Executive Magazine’s annual event, which honored 2014’s 50 fastest growing events in North America.

“In 2008, our country saw the worst recession in more than two generations, hitting the kitchen and bath industry hard,” said Brian Pagel, VP Kitchen and Bath Group, Emerald Expositions. “Even in the wake of this economic downturn, KBIS continues to achieve double-digit growth and thrive through our partnership with exhibiting brands and the support of the kitchen and bath industry. The show’s success is a testament to the dedication of the industry and the shared vision for the KBIS brand.”

KBIS was recognized as Growth Leader in Attendance for 2014 (based on sheer numbers) with an increase of 12,284 qualified attendees versus 2013, as well as Growth Leader in Attendance for 2014 (based on percentage growth) for a 65.3 percent growth in qualified attendance over 2013. KBIS also came in eighth for Growth Leader in Paid Net Square Feet (NSF) for 2014 (based on percentage growth) with a 29.2 percent growth in paid NSF over 2013.

During the 2015 show, more than 33,119 industry professionals canvassed the show floor. The event attracted over 500 exhibitors, including 96 new presenters.

KBIS 2016 to be bigger than 2015

leave a comment »

One month after the success of the 2015 Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS), plans are already underway to expand the show in 2016. More than 315 manufacturers and brands have committed to exhibit at KBIS 2016. Emerald Expositions has already sold 266,130 square feet of exhibit space – in the first month – almost the equivalent of what was sold in all of 2015.

This is the second year in a row KBIS has experienced such tremendous growth. During the 2015 show, more than 33,119 industry professionals canvassed the show floor. The 2015 event attracted over 500 exhibitors, including 96 new presenters and 87 Loyalty Leaders – the group of exhibitors recognized for their commitment to consecutively exhibiting at KBIS for at least the past six years.

Part of this success is due to the creation of Design & Construction Week. KBIS, in conjunction with the International Builders’ Show (IBS), owned by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), anchor the week-long mega-event, which this year also included the Winter 2015 Las Vegas Market and The International Surface Event – Surfaces and Tile Expo.

“Bringing Design and Construction Week to the industry is a major accomplishment from NKBA and our colleagues at NAHB,” said Bill Darcy, NKBA CEO. “We have created a vibrant forum to get business done in the kitchen and bath industry, fulfilling a major part of our association mission. From here, it only gets better with outstanding programming, top-notch learning opportunities, and the enthusiastic support of all our exhibitors launching their new innovations at KBIS.”

KBIS 2016 will be held January 19-21, 2016, in Las Vegas.
