Vero Software hosts reseller conference

leave a comment »

Vero Software hosted its first reseller conference as a Hexagon company (Vero’s parent company) at HxGN Live early this month, when it detailed for resellers the benefits of being part of a successful company interested in integrating computer-aided-manufacturing (CAM) software with metrology equipment to improve manufacturing processes.

“HxGN Live was a wonderful opportunity for our resellers to see firsthand that Hexagon is a great technology company and a very supportive parent to Vero, as well as to better understand our strategy going forward,” said Steve Sivitter, CEO of Vero Software. “It was an inspiring event for all.”

The conference is a forum for resellers across the Vero brands, with a technical focus on the latest upgrades and how those upgrades translate to benefits for customers. Included in the conference lineup were resellers for Vero Software’s Alphacam, Cabinet Vision, Edgecam, Radan, SURFCAM, VISI, and WorkNC product lines.

The conference took place June 1-4 in Las Vegas, Nevada, and was hosted in conjunction with Hexagon’s annual HxGN Live event. Designed to be both educational and inspirational, HxGN Live draws more than 3,000 participants each year.

Ardis to show latest production software at AWFS

leave a comment »

On July 22-25 at AWFS, Ardis will demonstrate its latest optimization capabilities. Ardis’ software can now determine the most efficient production route, whether it’s nesting on a CNC or cutting on a saw.

The Ardis optimizer can optimize both processes, by combining machines and taking into account the production volume, parts geometry, and further processing requirements.

Ardis optimization software is parametrical, can be adapted for small and big parts quantities, for serial and custom production. Custom production of parts can take into account the work in process and prioritize production to respect delivery times.

The company will show how it can control or integrate with an automated warehouse as well as provide data and positioning for labelling equipment, and integrate with and control saws and nesting machines.

Check the software out at booth #9148.

Vero’s Alphacam software expands Vectorline to cover all of Canada

leave a comment »

Vero’s Alphacam software brand has expanded Canadian reseller Vectorline’s role to cover the entire country and work with metal manufacturers.

Based in Sarnia, Ontario, Vectorline has focused on Alphacam woodworking customers for six years, and Managing Director Paul Demchuk carried out Alphacam training and support programming for machinery retailers since 2000. Before that, he used Alphacam in industry as a manufacturer.

Alphacam sales manager, Perry Boyett says: “Vectorline’s background, and in particular Paul Demchuk’s extensive experience with Alphacam, makes the company ideal for taking on the extended role we were looking for. Alphacam is getting increasingly popular throughout Canada, and Vectorline is now its primary reseller there.”

Vectorline is currently recruiting additional staff to strengthen its program of site visits, open houses, strategic seminars and partnerships with machinery manufacturers.

Demchuk says: “Our main emphasis is educating manufacturers on implementing and using Alphacam to ensure they get the very best out of their software investment. There are some exciting new and enhanced features in the forthcoming 2015 R1 release, and we’re looking forward to unveiling those across all markets – metal, wood, stone and plastic.”

Corecon Technologies integrates Intuit’s QuickBooks Online

leave a comment »

Corecon Technologies Inc., a provider of Web-based estimating and project management construction software, now has data integration with Corecon V7 and Intuit’s QuickBooks Online.

This new offering was built to take advantage of Intuit’s IPP v3 platform to sync contact and project data seamlessly with QuickBooks Online. A new sync wizard in Corecon V7 is designed to minimize mouse clicks and identify all data required to be updated or exported between the two cloud-based systems. This includes customer, vendor and employee information, as well as project financial transactions such as bills, progress invoices and timecards that need to be exported. A preview function in the wizard identifies and displays the information that will be synced before the actual data exchange occurs, and sync logs provide a history of modified/ added records with the date and name of the person who made the change.

Corecon subscribers using QuickBooks desktop versions (Pro, Premier, Enterprise 2010-2014) will continue to use the existing CoreconLink for QuickBooks utility for accounting integration. This utility makes a dual connection: one to Corecon’s servers via Web-services and the other to the local QuickBooks database/file via Intuit’s qbSDK. However, since the existing link utility requires separate export functions for each type of record (e.g. customer, vendor, project, bill, etc.), accountants will likely prefer the seamless integration of QuickBooks Online with Corecon V7.

“Intuit is committed to creating a powerful ecosystem of integrated apps for our millions of QuickBooks customers,” said Ronny Tey, Intuit Group marketing manager for QuickBooks  “Seamless connection between QuickBooks Online and Corecon Technologies will provide construction firms and accounting professionals with a streamlined back-office solution for more efficient business operations.”

“Our company has a lot of expertise when it comes to estimating, project management, and job cost control systems, and we are very excited about our new accounting integration with QuickBooks Online,” explains Corecon President Norman J. Wendl. “Since there is no software to install, integrating the two cloud-based systems has significant advantages. Project accounting staff will simply login to Corecon V7 and make the connection to QuickBooks Online, and they are off and running. This will truly expedite accounting functions raising the bar in terms of project management and accounting integration.”
