Steelcase CEO Jim Hackett said recently that they will show their new line of products for the mobile workplace, according to MLive.com. “We’ve been working with the Marriott hotel chain to prototype collaborative work environments in hotel conference centers,” Hackett said.

“We think there is potential here to expand the definition of our purpose, to help create great experiences wherever work happens.”

The company surpassed their expectations in sales last year, with profits up two-fold for the eighth consecutive quarter. The company has done well in the Americas and growing in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Just last week, Steelcase opened a new showroom in Guangzhou, China. It’s the third WorkLife Center in the company’s China network, joining Shanghai and Beijing. The larger effort is to establish itself in cities that have a plethora of of global organizations and local companies.

By November, they plan to open a manufacturing facility in India, another important market.
